Marcos Lutyens participated in the Simons Foundation Triangle Program through Fulcrum Arts, in collaboration with the gravitational-wave physicist Rana X. Adhikari, whose work at the intersection of experimental physics and cosmology continues to expand the imaginative horizons of scientific inquiry. The collaboration unfolded through a series of focused gatherings, including a retreat in upstate New York and a convening at the Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena, creating space for sustained dialogue between artistic, scientific, and philosophical modes of thinking. As part of the opening program, Marcos Lutyens presented Respair, a live hypnotic induction performance developed specifically for the exhibition. The performance took place on July 12, 2025, and was conceived as a collective act of recalibration in the wake of loss. Sound design was created and performed by Aaron Drake.

The collaboration has centered on the early development of a new project engaging quantum messaging and gravitational-wave physics, alongside material experimentation in glass blowing and conceptual planning sessions at LIGO Caltech. These exchanges were supported by the Simons Foundation team — Kelsa Trom, Ivett Modinou, and Kayla Lim — and by Fulcrum Arts, with the guidance and curatorial support of Robert Takahashi Crouch and Patrick Reed. The project remains in active development, shaped by ongoing conversations between physics, material process, and speculative forms of communication across scales.
