On and Beyond – A Love Letter to ShadowsElectronic Ether Galleria Alberta Pane, Venice Electronic Ether was presented as part of the group exhibition On and Beyond – A Love Letter to Shadows at Galleria Alberta Pane, Venice. The installation unfolds as a hypnotic experiential work that probes the porous boundary between digital saturation and organic dissolution, aligning with the exhibition’s focus on traces, immateriality, and the afterimages of sculptural form.
Visitors enter the space and sit on polygonal stools engraved with the molecular structure of dopamine—a chemical mediator of pleasure, reward, and addiction. An audio hypnosis induction guides participants into a trance state in which the relentless influx of digital messages accumulates within consciousness, intensifying toward sensory overload. At its peak, this digital saturation collapses into a counter-psychotic unravelling, loosening the rigid boundaries of the self.
As the experience shifts, participants are drawn into an interior landscape rooted in bodily sensation and imagined nature. Attention turns toward the dopamine molecule itself, traced mentally and tactilely, as the self undergoes a feral reorientation—evaporating, composting, and dissolving into a distributed, entangled state of being. Identity becomes porous, no longer fixed or individuated, but absorbed into a wider ecological and psychic continuum.
Electronic Ether gestures toward a condition beyond dopamine-driven digital loops, proposing a rewilded subjectivity in which the self becomes a medium—fluid, unstable, and open to transformation.
